COLODNY: | I mean whether they were getting to Moorer or not is, is you know maybe in dispute, but one of the here's one of the problems. Ehrlichman's asked that question. Why, why did you reappoint Moorer? And his answer was we had ourselves a preshrunk admiral.
MITCHELL: | From Nixon? |
COLODNY: | No, his ans his answer was that the reason we reappointed him to the chairmanship
MITCHELL: | Yeah.
COLODNY: | was 'cause we had ourselves a preshrunk admiral and my feeling is he had just the opposite. |
MITCHELL: | I don't think he was preshrunk at all. He was a big contributor and cooperator with Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger. |

COLODNY: | So even if his quote is accurate, your description of Admiral Moorer again is your own personal feeling, not as a result of any investigation you did or at the request of the President any investigation that you did.
MITCHELL: | You're absolutely right, and probably, I say probably, what that hyphen left out was that it was my opinion that Moorer was not involved. |
